Dr. John-Paul Whitmire

As a young athlete who participated in many different sports, Dr. John-Paul Whitmire soon became well acquainted with the field of sports medicine and the role that Chiropractors can play in helping people get healthy and stay healthy.  Dr. Whitmire graduated from Camas High School in 1987, completed his undergraduate studies in Washington and then earned his Doctorate in Chiropractic in 1994 from the University of Western States located in Portland, Oregon.  He is proud of his family’s history of serving Salem communities.

Dr. Whitmire is committed to providing the highest level of care to his community.  He feels he can provide his patients with the most advanced forms of treatment by staying up to date with the latest research on health, wellness, and the functions of the body.  His goal is to provide each patient with the best health care possible.

Dr. Whitmire lives in Salem, Oregon with his wife, three children, and their immediate families.  He was an Eagle Scout, Jr. Assistant Scoutmaster, honor roll student athlete, and lettered for multiple sports teams.  He enjoys camping, fishing, canoeing, and all types of sports.  He prefers to be playing or coaching but also enjoys watching.  When he is not in the office you can usually find him shooting hoops, coaching a team, hanging with his family or donating his time in the community.

Hands down the best chiropractic experience I’ve ever had. It was my first visit. We covered a ton of ground and I had a significant improvement from day one. VERY knowledgeable chiropractor who actually listened to me and looked in depth at my situation. I’m literally looking forward to my next appointment.

Dr. Whitmire is knowledgeable, professional, and friendly . He made it easy to understand my diagnosis and care plan. The staff at the office was friendly and helpful. Although it was a busy day I felt I got great service.

I’ve had physical therapy many times in the past, and visited chiropractors and massage therapists, but the fact that this place combines all three into one location and appointment system is brilliant. The chiropractor himself is very gentle and understanding about my fibromyalgia, which not all chiropractors really understand.

I can’t begin to say how great everyone is at Whitmire! I am very glad my sister’s friend recommended them to me as I was struggling to walk and it had been a long ongoing process with many doctors. After a month there I am able to move around and getting my strength back to hopefully start running again soon.

Great place!!! Everybody here is very nice and they really care about their patients. I have never walked into a place where I am greeted by such delightful people. They knew me by my first name on only the second time I was there, very impressive!! Doctor Whitmire is a great guy and he has alot of solid advice and he knows what is the best treatment for each individual. If you’ve got aches and pains, go see JP Whitmire and his outstanding staff!

40 yrs of MIGRAINES have taught me that if I start with a ‘aura’ then a massive headache will follow and nothing but medication and time will take it away. However, I was in Salem the other day and started with an aura and I did not have my imitrex medication with me. I asked Dr. Whitmire if he could try to do something. He worked with me, doing a few different things. Then I took 10 minutes laying down with a hotpack….and AMAZINGLY …I avoided a full-blown migraine. Dr. Whitmire taught me a certain point to press and how to rotate my head…..and so far, I’ve stopped the progression of ‘aura to migraine’ 3 more times. Love this place!!! If you suffer from migraines I highly recommend that you try it out.
