Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression Therapy
Spinal Decompression in Salem, OR: Spinal decompression therapy is a treatment that helps alleviate pain associated with the discs in the spine that are between vertebrae. Spinal decompression involves stretching the spine, using a traction table or similar motorized device, with the goal of relieving pain and increasing functionality in the spine.
Spinal decompression is non-invasive and effective:
Over time, due to age, lifestyle or injury, discs can bulge, become herniated or degenerate. Once this process begins, pain, limited range of motion and discomfort may occur in the spine and in the legs. This low-risk treatment is essential for anyone with lower back issues.
Our patients experience relief from:
- Back pain
- Neck pain
- Sciatica
- Bulging discs, herniated discs
- Degenerative disc disease
- Worn spinal joints (posterior facet syndrome)
- Injured or diseased spinal nerve roots
Spinal decompression alleviates pressure and elongates the spine:
After Spinal Decompression, patients will feel elongated and relaxed. Other therapies may be combined with spinal decompression, such as diet recommendations and exercises depending on the patient.

I had a shooting pain in my lower back that was hindering my ability to work at my usual pace. A friend advised me to see a chiropractor as I had never been to one before. I called Whitmire Chiropractic and told them about my situation. Despite having a very busy schedule, they were able to get me an appointment swiftly. I loved that I was able to complete the necessary paperwork all online before I arrived my appointment. There was no waiting in the lobby. I was on time and walked right in to begin my appointment. Everyone was very polite and helpful. The day after my appointment, they call to see how I was doing and if I had any questions. Excellent Service All Around!

Hands down the best chiropractic experience I’ve ever had. It was my first visit. We covered a ton of ground and I had a significant improvement from day one. VERY knowledgeable chiropractor who actually listened to me and looked in depth at my situation. I’m literally looking forward to my next appointment.

The doctors and staff give amazing care and listen to your concerns. Beautiful, clean, and professional office.

This is the best experience I have had with a chiropractor. The doctor explained everything he was doing very thoroughly and professionally and helped me to understand why I was experiencing certain aches and pains and how I could alleviate those using massage and stretching techniques on my own. I felt comfortable and safe in this clean and friendly environment and will definitely be back for weekly follow up! I already feel so much better after my first appointment today. Highly recommend Dr. Whitmire and is team at the clinic!

The team at Whitmire is excellent and bring great results!! Thanks Dr. Whitmire!

In the spring of 2014 I began visiting Dr. Whitmire for treatment of Migraine headaches. After a thorough evaluation he adjusted my neck bringing immediate relief of pain and Migraine symptoms. My primary care physician at the time only prescribed narcotic pain medication and told me to come back when my prescription ran out. The migraines were so frequent that I had to choose between being incapacitated by the migraines or the narcotics. After only a few visits with Dr. Whitmire the frequency of my migraines began to subside and I was able to quit taking the narcotics all together. In the fall of 2014 I was in a motorcycle accident. I landed in a jackknife position on the small of my back. After an Urgent care visit, X-Rays, and a new prescription for narcotics, my primary care physician suggested seeing a surgeon and said that there was little he could do but continue prescribing pain medication. Again I visited Dr. Whitmire. After another thorough assessment he adjusted my spine. The treatments required many visits and adjustments, but Dr. Whitmire was persistent and consistent in providing care. It took 6 months for me to fully recover from my injuries. Without Dr. Whitmire’s help, I would probably still be recovering today. Dr. Whitmire always takes the time to listen and and answer questions. His gift for healing has blessed my life.

Absolutely love this place! All the staff is excellent to work with. Explain everything you need to know, definitely helping to put me on the road to a long recovery!

If you’ve got aches and pains, go see JP Whitmire and his outstanding staff!

Love these people and everything they do. They are amazing and listen to all your needs.
